Here are some resources to help you in your homeschooling journey.
You must report your intent to homeschool your children ages 7 – 16 by October 1 each year. Annual reporting forms and an overview of Minnesota’s homeschool law are available HERE.
MACHE (Minnesota Association of Christian Home Educators) offers resources and help for homeschoolers, including a helpful “How to Begin” course.
HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) is the trusted movement leader that makes homeschooling possible by caring for member families and protecting and securing the future of homeschooling. Their website offers many good resources.
Mid-Metro Academy sponsors the HomeschoolMN.info website, where you can find a list of organizations, see an events calendar, read helpful articles, and list homeschool books you have for sale or buy curriculum offered by other homeschoolers.
One of Mid-Metro Academy’s charter members has started a helpful Facebook page called The Commonsensical Homeschooler. She posts helpful links and ideas regularly.

Heppner’s Legacy Homeschool Resources has been serving the homeschooling community for 35 years. Their Elk River store is a jaunt from the St. Paul side of the Twin Cities, but it can be worth the trip once a year! The Bjorkmans are also willing to consult with your by phone.
The Homeschool Mom is a helpful website.
Each year homeschooled students must take a standardized test. You can order tests that you can administer at home from Family Learning Organization. Be sure to give yourself enough time. In busy testing seasons, it may take several weeks to get your materials.

Working from home can make it easier to homeschool. A training program from Talent Stacker helps adults earn a Salesforce Certification and transition to a career as a Salesforce Administrator, Business Analyst, or Developer at a fraction of the cost it takes to earn a degree or even complete a tech boot camp.
