Julie Thoreen To All Instructors

Julie Thoreen is a passionate teacher with 25+ years of experience performing and teaching theater and creative dramatics to students ages 3-21. She loves to help students build trust with one another and come alive as they explore all that God has given them to tell stories using their bodies and voices. Growing up acting in plays at a regional children's theater and doing competitive improv, Julie moved on to study theater and music at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with her B.A. in Theater with an emphasis on Teaching for Youth. She went on to intern at the Seattle Children's Theater, build a youth program at Orpheum Theater in Marshalltown, Iowa, teach musical theater for middle school students at the Guthrie, and use drama to work with children on the Autism spectrum.
