Homeschooling through high school gives your student a wide range of opportunities that may not be available to others. Mid-Metro Academy is here to help students pursue their unique goals and passions during and after high school.
Along with the opportunities of homeschooling come challenges. As a parent, you must make sure your students take the necessary courses so their diplomas will be as meaningful as any other high school diploma. You need to prepare a high school transcript that colleges or other institutions will accept and that will accurately reflect what your student has achieved through home, classroom, and other learning experiences.
Not only that, but you want to help your student make decisions that can set the course for adulthood—at a time when he or she is just discovering his or her own identity.
That’s a tall order.
This workshop will help with the big picture planning as well as the details of transcript preparation. In the general session, Rebecca Hope will introduce you to the four-year-planning process and Minnesota’s high school graduation standards. Chris and Lisa Paschen will walk you through the ins and outs of credits, creating your own graduation goals and requirements, and preparing a transcript.
After that, you’ll choose two of three available breakout sessions:
Alternatives to College: Don’t Lock Yourself In!
Preparing Students for Careers and the Gig Economy
Parent Panel: PSEO, College, Applications, and More
This workshop is for parents who are currently homeschool their students in grades 8 - 12 and those who are considering doing so. Rising ninth to twelfth graders are welcome to attend with their parents.
